  • A joint-survey by ABC News and The Washington Post, this index asks respondents to evaluate their personal financial situation. The results are compared to the survey releases of the past three weeks to create a rolling four week average. Consumers’ confidence in their country’s economy usually has an impact on consumer spending, which ultimately affects overall economic activity. Because the ABC/WP Consumer Confidence survey is weekly, this release provides an indication of upcoming monthly figures.
